The Annual Monroe Style Mandolin Camp which has been hosted by the International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro, Kentucky is moving to Nashville, Tennessee this year. The camp, scheduled for September 4-7, 2014 will be held at Camp Marymount at 1318 Fairview Blvd. The Monroe Mandolin Camp (Nashville) is a specialized mandolin camp playing and learning the songs and instrumentals of Bill Monroe. The mission of this camp is brilliantly simple: Provide world-class musicians chooled in the music written, recorded, and created by the Father of Blue Grass music-Bill Monroe. This niche genre within the world of bluegrass is important to preserve and keep alive. It is the roots and base for an entire subculture of music within the folk/country/roots/bluegrass scene.
